“I know where Lucifer is.”
It’s been a year since the Carousel, and John is struggling with his leadership of the house, as they continue to protect the world from the denizens of Hell and Bower’s Fall. Meanwhile, Luke and Emma are attempting to rebuild their lives, until one night, Luke is kidnapped and coerced by a group of mercenaries who are determined to reach the far side of Hell, and have need of his particular skills.
Immediately, Emma and John attempt a rescue, but their lives are thrown into chaos when they discover plans have been set in motion that coincide with Luke’s kidnapping.
Somehow, they must find a way to reach Luke before he opens the breach to a world-threatening catastrophe.
Some gates should always remain closed.

“Janet J Holden has written a book. Well, she’s written many books, and this one is her third. The rest will follow soon, I bet. While all three of her published books are really good, this one, The Only Red Is Blood, is without a doubt her best (and my favorite). It is the sequel to her first book, Carousel, and while it would be cool if you read Carousel first, you don’t have to in order to enjoy The Only Red Is Blood. If you are fan of Clive Barkers and Bentley Little’s earlier and wilder books, The Only Red Is Blood will be right up your alley. Urban Horror venturing into Underworld Horror, and Holden does it right.” — T.T. Zuma
